Last week, we discussed the need of a proofreader\u2026 then, we asked:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Why do we still need someone else to read the translation? Why do we need a Translation Quality Manager?<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

According to our experience in translating manuals, legal cases of thousands and thousands words\u2026large files on accidents reports or Business Reports\u2026 we\u2019ve found that these 3 steps of <\/span><\/span>TRANSLATION<\/b><\/span><\/span>, <\/span><\/span>PROOFREADING<\/b><\/span><\/span> and <\/span><\/span>QUALITY MANAGEMENT<\/b><\/span><\/span> are really useful.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

And here is how we work:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Our Project Managers and office support prepare the files for translation.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Our translation team works in preparing the glossaries and the translation.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The proofreaders read the translation and check for consistency, accuracy, etc.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

And finally, the Quality Managers:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Read the entire document, Source against Target document.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Look for mistakes: punctuation, typos, spelling, etc.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Check language against glossaries, past jobs or any specific requirement.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Check formatting according to the client\u2019s requests, and<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Make sure that the Target document is as close as possible to the Source document.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
